High Velocity Option

Paddle Shroud

Reinforces the stem and paddle assembly for high-velocity flows of 7–10 FPS. Eliminates stress concentration around attachment screws — the most common failure point in high-velocity service.

What Is the Paddle Shroud?

The Paddle Shroud is a protective enclosure that wraps around the paddle and stem of a PEECO flow switch. It is designed specifically for applications where flow velocity falls in the 7–10 FPS range — fast enough to impose significant bending loads on a standard paddle, but not so extreme as to require a pivoted connection.

Without the shroud, repeated high-velocity loading causes metal fatigue at the screw attachment points, eventually leading to paddle loss inside the pipe. The shroud transfers those forces into the body of the paddle, dramatically extending service life.

Key Features

Reinforced Stem & Paddle

The shroud wraps the stem and paddle assembly, distributing flow forces across a larger surface area and eliminating the stress concentration points that cause fatigue failure in standard paddles.

Screw Stress Relief

Relieves stress concentration around the attachment screws — the most common failure point in high-velocity paddle assemblies. The shroud transfers load away from the screw holes into the body of the paddle.

Broad Model Compatibility

Available on all PEECO N, E, and H Series models except tee-style bodies. Specify at time of order; can also be retrofitted to existing installations.
