Material selection for corrosive media — acids, caustics, and solvents.

Overview

Chemical processing plants handle a wide range of corrosive, toxic, and flammable media. Selecting the correct wetted-part materials for a PEECO flow switch is critical to long service life and safe operation. PEECO offers standard stainless steel construction plus Teflon (PTFE) and KYNAR (PVDF) options for highly corrosive applications.

Hazardous Location Considerations

Most chemical plants have classified areas. The PEECO E Series is explosion-proof (Class I, Division 1, Group D) and is the standard choice for hazardous locations. For extremely high-pressure lines (above 600 PSI), the H Series provides explosion-proof protection up to 10,000 PSI.

Note: Teflon and KYNAR wetted-part options are currently available only on the N Series (non-explosion-proof) housing. For corrosive media in hazardous locations, consult the factory for custom configurations.
